The Daily Signal recently published a report that further casts doubt on Fox News’ upholding Conservative values on the topic of transgender ideology.

The report documented the workplace policies and benefits of Fox News dated January 2021 that cover the following transgender-friendly policies:

• Use of bathrooms aligning to proclaimed gender identity
• Dressing in clothes of proclaimed gender
• Forcing employees to address colleagues by their preferred name and pronouns in the workplace
• Support of “Workplace Transition Plan” to ease gender transition in the office
• Encouragement of employees attempting transitions to “inform and educate” their co-workers. Fox’s handbook notes that “with advance preparation, the road for someone to be able to express their true self can be made smoother.”
• Definitions of LGBTQ terms (i.e. cisgender, gender express, gender identity, gender non-conforming, gender transition, non-binary, and transgender) provided by the Human Rights Campaign, the most prominent LGBTQ organization
• Championing of highest rating in 2022 Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equity Index – “the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality”

In addition, Fox News has resisted opposition to and promotion of transgender ideology:

• A positive story about a California teen transitioning in June 2022 – “California transgender teen, family hope to be an inspiration to others”
• The producers of Tucker Carlson’s evening show faced opposition to refer to trans-identifying TikTok star Mulvaney with male pronouns. Producers for the new “Fox News Tonight” program were reportedly told not to criticize Mulvaney​ as well.
• The team of Tucker Carlson fought to be able to host The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh due to his condemnation of trans ideology
• The anonymous current and former Fox employees quoted in The Daily Signal report express a belief that there is a difference between the network’s on-air messaging and its internal policies and practices.

There certainly is room for doubt if each of these points is looked at in isolation. New York City and California workplace laws may stipulate some of these rules and benefits, so Fox may just be staying legally compliant. Matt Walsh being blacklisted from Fox News might have been because he was on a competitor network, The Daily Wire.

But when you hear on Fox News telling a positive story about the California transgender teen and when you consider what sounds like significant opposition to the opposition to transgender ideology, it begins to paint a picture of the philosophy of Fox News. A former producer for “Tucker Carlson Tonight” show said about Fox News: “They want you to think it’s this place that supports traditionally conservative values but in reality, they’re pushing this nonsense behind the scenes.”

Fox News has made no official statement nor has given a comprehensive answer regarding the network’s stance on this matter. Nor do we suspect they will.

Tucker Carlson’s Final Word on Transgender Ideology

Tucker Carlson was reportedly cancelled without a publicly-stated reason from Fox News, but the cancellation occurred shortly after Carlson delivered a speech at The Heritage Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala, where – among other topics – he said this on the topic of transgender ideology:

(21:57) There is no way to assess, say, the transgender movement with that mind-set.

Policy papers don’t account for it at all. If you have people who are saying, “I have an idea. Let’s castrate the next generation. Let’s sexually mutilate children.” I’m sorry, that’s not a political debate. What? That’s nothing to do with politics. What’s the outcome we’re desiring here? An androgynous population? Are we arguing for that? I don’t think anyone could defend that as a positive outcome, but the weight of the government and a lot of corporate interests are behind that.

Well, what is that? Well, it’s irrational..

(24:00) None of this makes sense in conventional political terms. When people, or crowds of people, or the largest crowd of people at all, which is the federal government, the largest human organization in human history decide that the goal is to destroy things, destruction for its own sake, “Hey, let’s tear it down,” what you’re watching is not a political movement. It’s evil.

Final Thoughts

Transgender ideology is the largest social experiment on our children of our time. Even Finland, Sweden, and the UK are all putting major restrictions on puberty blockers for children / teens with gender dysphoria. “Finnish medical guidelines are now opposed to most puberty blocking and adolescent transitioning, except in the most severe cases and, then, only in a research setting.”

“Cross-sex identification in childhood, even in extreme cases, generally disappears during puberty. However, in some cases, it persists or even intensifies. Gender dysphoria may also emerge or intensify at the onset of puberty. There is considerable variation in the timing of the onset of puberty in both sexes. The first-line treatment for gender dysphoria is psychosocial support and, as necessary, psychotherapy and treatment of possible comorbid psychiatric disorders.”’

Beyond misguided medical research and what should be classified as medical malfeasance, transgender ideology – especially in children and teens – is as Tucker Carlson said at the Heritage Gala – evil.
